Fertility-Boosting Meditation
Are you a healthy woman over the age of 30 struggling with fertility issues? We’ve been there, and we understand the feelings of overwhelm: there are many remedies, but where to begin?
Consider sitting down, closing your eyes, and focusing on your breath for a while.
While there are a range of medical treatments available to help improve fertility, an increasingly popular approach is the use of meditation as a natural, non-invasive method to improve the chances of getting pregnant.
But does meditation actually have the power to improve fertility, or is it just a trendy, pseudoscientific approach?
To answer this question, it's important to understand the role stress plays in fertility. High levels of stress have been shown to negatively impact fertility in a number of ways. For example, stress can alter hormonal balance and disrupt ovulation, making it more difficult to get pregnant. Stress can also negatively impact overall health, which can indirectly affect fertility.
This is where meditation comes in.
A growing body of research suggests that meditation may be an effective tool for reducing stress and improving fertility. For example, a study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders found that meditation was an effective stress-reduction technique for pregnant and postpartum women.
But the benefits of meditation don't stop there. For example, a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that mindfulness meditation improved sleep quality and daytime impairment among adults with sleep disturbances. Improved sleep quality and overall health can both contribute to better fertility.
So, what does all of this research tell us about the power of meditation for improving fertility?
While more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between meditation and fertility, the evidence suggests that meditation may be a useful adjuvant treatment for improving fertility.
Whether you're trying to get pregnant naturally or are undergoing fertility treatment, incorporating meditation into your routine may be a simple and effective way to improve your chances of conceiving.
